SWEPCO 502 Premium Engine Oil Improver
Engine oil specifications continue to change and Southwestern Petroleum and our SWEPCO Lubricants are keeping pace with these changes. SWEPCO 502 Premium Engine Oil Improver can now be used in engines calling for API CK-4, FA-4 and SN Plus. SWEPCO 502 will not change the ash, zinc, or phosphorous levels. It will not harm catalytic converters or particulate traps, so it can be used in engines requiring DEF (Diesel Exhaust Fluid). SWEPCO 502 Premium Engine Oil Improver is made with modern base oils currently used in engine oil formulations and is compatible with mineral oil, partial synthetic, and fully synthetic PAO based engine oils. It is backward compatible, so it can be used with older engines as well. Newer engines use lower viscosity oils and you will see further reduction soon. These lighter viscosity oils can seep past oil rings on the piston and burn in the combustion chamber. This leads to more soot and the problems associated with soot such as oil thickening, wear, and filter plugging. SWEPCO 502 Premium Engine Oil Improver will help combat these soot related issues. SWEPCO 502 will raise the TBN (Total Base Number) by 1 unit at the proper treat rate. If the customer is using oil with 10 TBN, it will be increased to 11TBN. This translates to better engine cleanliness, better soot handling, and possible extended oil drains verified by LOA results.
SWEPCO 502 Premium Engine Oil ImproverSWEPCO 502 Engine Oil Improver contains Moly-XP, a unique Moly containing compound that reduces friction, protects metal surfaces, and reduces engine wear. It will not settle out or clog filters and can be used with trucks with centrifuge filtering systems. Moly-XP has a synergy with zinc additives in the oil that reduces wear better than either additive by its self. This can lead to longer engine life and few replacement parts between overhauls. Reduced friction can help improve fuel economy and allow for cooler operating temperatures.
SWEPCO 502 Premium Engine Oil Improver has powerful antioxidants and corrosion inhibitors that work together to extend the engine and oil life.
The mix ratio remains the same at 1 pint for five quarts, or 1 liter in 10 liter of oil. Do not over fill and do not over treat. It is recommended using 502 with fresh oil during the oil change. Do not use as make-up oil during a filter change.
